“The Diya Painting Fundraiser is an event that the Youth Group puts on every year around Diwali time. It is one of the most fun activities. Painting the diyas is the more fun part – we get together during one of the meetings and design lots of diyas to sell the next weekend. I spent a lot of time designing diyas that we could sell, mostly using already spray painted diyas. It was very relaxing and fun to just spend time with the youth group and contribute back to our temple community.” – Charishma Pallapolu
